Squat Form Tips
Main takeaways👇🏼 Quad biased •narrow stance •drop straight down as initial movement •ass to grass is best (the deeper the better) •easier with high bar position (not shown or explained in the video) Glute biased •wider stance •hips back first as initial movement •parallel is ending position (deeper is not better. When your hips don’t move back anymore you hit the bottom of the squat) •easier with low bar position (not shown or explained in the video) Set up: •don’t use a barbell pad, use your traps as the shelf to rest the bar on top of •the height the bar is racked at should be BELOW your shoulder height. You should not be on your tippy toes trying to unrack and re-rack the bar. That is super unsafe especially when you have a heavy load on the bar. Side bar - for people with long femurs like me, I personally do not ever do this exercise for my quads. Something like a hack squat is much more beneficial in my opinion.
